Proteus 2000
1999–2002
The Proteus 2000 was the most powerful and versatile sound module created by E-MU at the time, kicking off the new Proteus 2000-series line of rackmount modules. It offered 128-voice polyphony driven by a 32-bit processor, extensive real-time controls, six analog outputs plus stereo S/PDIF digital out, and built-in dual 24-bit effects. It shipped with the 32MB Composer ROM soundset and had four SIMM sockets for expansion with additional E-MU sound ROMs.
