The E-MU Proteus Orchestra is essentially the same as the Virtuoso 2000; however, it underwent a name change specifically for the Japanese market. Both versions offer the same features and capabilities, with the renaming serving as a market-specific branding strategy for the Japanese audience. It shipped standard with the Orchestral Sessions Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 expansion ROMs.
