Proteus/2
1990
The E-MU Proteus/2 sound module is based on the same technical characteristics of its predecessor, the Proteus/1, but with different waveforms. It concentrates on purely orchestral sounds with a wide range of solo strings, woodwinds, classical brass, orchestral percussion and more. The module gained prominence through film scoring: Mark Snow used Patch #125 for the X-Files theme whistle sound, and Eric Serra used Patch #86 for the low octave effect in the 1995 GoldenEye film score.
