- Unplug the AC power cord.
- Remove the cover: Remove the 7 screws (3 top back, 2 side recesses) and lift the rear of the top panel up and off.
- Remove old memory (if necessary): Squeeze the tabs on the SIMM socket outward while pushing the SIMM to the right. Hinge it up to remove.
- Ground yourself before handling new SIMMs.
- Install new SIMMs: Insert the first SIMM closest to the LEFT at a 45-degree angle (chips facing rear). Tilt it up until it clicks.
- Repeat for the second SIMM if applicable. (Install larger SIMM in RAM A if sizes differ).
- Reassemble the top cover and screws.
- Power on and verify the memory size on the boot display.
- Run Diagnostics (see Memory Diagnostics procedure) to verify installation.
