The E-MU 1820M is the mastering-grade top-tier 1820 Digital Audio System, shipping with the 1010 PCI card, the higher-spec AudioDock M, and a Sync daughter card for Word Clock/SMPTE/MTC. Its differentiator is premium AKM A/D converters (as used in Pro Tools HD 192 I/O), delivering ~120dBA dynamic range vs the 1820's ~111dBA. It otherwise matches the 1820's I/O and the PatchMix DSP mixer/effects engine.
