The E-MU 1616M is the mastering-grade version of the 1616 Laptop Digital Audio System: the same CardBus card plus MicroDock, but fitted with premium converters (AKM AK5394A ADC, Cirrus CS4398 DAC) for ~120dBA dynamic range at 24-bit/192kHz. I/O and DSP are otherwise identical — mic/guitar/line preamps, balanced I/O, S/PDIF, ADAT, dual MIDI, and the PatchMix DSP mixer with effects; PCI and PCIe host cards were also offered.
