Yamaha TG77is therack-mountedequivalent ofYamaha Corporation'sSY77synthesizer workstation. It, too, is a 16-voicemultitimbralmusic (synthesizer) utilizing Yamaha's AdvancedFrequency Modulation; Advanced Wave Memory; and the combination of these two systems, either by layering together or by modulating an AFM voice by an AWM wave, a synergy termed Realtime Convolution and Modulation Synthesis (RCM). The unit came into production in 1989, simultaneously with the SY77.

Overview

The Yamaha TG77, released in 1989, was a rackmount tone generator module based on the SY77 workstation. This 1U module offered AFM and AWM synthesis, comprehensive effects, and 16-part multitimbrality. The TG77 provided SY77 sounds in a compact format for studio integration.
