The Fairchild 670 was developed alongside the 660 as the stereo version of the ultimate vari-mu compressor. Its push-pull output stage and LAT (Lateral/Vertical) processing mode made it revolutionary for stereo program material. The 670 became the mix bus compressor of choice for legendary engineers. Stamchild SA-670 recreates this legendary stereo processor.

The StamChild SA-670 is a recreation of the most iconic tube compressor in history — the Fairchild 670. Features eight custom transformers from AMI (US) and Sowter (UK), eighteen tubes (sixteen matched NOS 6BA6 plus two 12AU7), all burned for 72 hours. The AMI-designed input transformers are identical replicas of the UTC A-26, providing low-mid saturation with hefty low end and gentle top-end roll-off. Four-position AGC Filter enables multiband compression: OFF, 90Hz HPF, 180Hz HPF, and Mid Range (180Hz HPF + 3kHz LPF). Stereo master output attenuator for pushing tube stage harder, dry/wet blend in 10% increments, and LAT-VERT function for Mid/Side processing. Hand made in Chile.
