The SA-432C was developed as an original Stam Audio design inspired by the EQ sections of classic British consoles like the Neve and Soundcraft desks that shaped countless records. It represents Stam expansion beyond direct vintage recreations to create original tools that complement their clone lineup, offering engineers a different flavor of analog EQ.

The Stam Audio SA-432C is a 1:1 replica of the Sontec MES-432C — the holy grail of mastering equalizers. Originally built in the mid-1970s, the Sontec was the first fully parametric stereo studio equalizer and has been used on virtually every successful record of the 80s and 90s. At its heart are twelve reverse-engineered discrete op-amps (six HS2030 and six HS6000, 13 transistors each, running at ±28V). Fully stepped switches with 1% tolerance resistors, 0.5dB steps for the first 3dB suited for mastering. Three parametric bands with 24 frequencies each, low shelf (50/100Hz switchable), and 10kHz high shelf. Bridged-T-filter design. UK-made toroidal transformer. Optional Mid/Side matrix (+$500). Hand made in Chile.
