The Stam Audio SA-23A combines the unique compression characteristics of both the famous 1968 Teletronix LA-2A and LA-3A in a single unit, selectable by a two-way switch. Each retains its own independent circuit and transformers. The 2A section uses custom US-made A-10 input and A-24 output transformers (matching original UTCs), NOS tubes, and carbon resistors. The 3A section uses custom US-made B11178 input transformer, US-made autoformer, and UK-made Carnhill VTB11148 output transformer. Both share a Kenetek T4B made by Bill Jones in Kentucky. Beautiful black brushed aluminum faceplate. Hand made in Chile.

The Neve 2254 was designed by Rupert Neve in the early 1970s as the dynamics section for the Neve 80 Series consoles. Its diode bridge design created a unique compression character distinct from the 1176 and LA-2A. The 2254 became the definitive British bus compressor before the SSL 4000 took that crown. Stam SA-23A brings this classic console dynamics to modern studios.
