The Neve 1081 was introduced in 1972 as an evolution of the 1073, featuring the same input stage but with a more comprehensive four-band EQ section and Class AB output stage for improved headroom. It became the standard preamp/EQ in Neve 80 Series consoles used by countless major studios. The SA-1B brings this expanded design to modern engineers, offering the 1081 enhanced EQ flexibility at a fraction of the cost of vintage or modern Neve units. The B designation honors the classic 1081 module designation.

The Stam Audio SA-1B is a meticulously reverse-engineered replica of the legendary Danish CL1B opto compressor. Custom US-made input transformer and Swedish-made Lundahl output transformer precisely replicate original ratios, frequency response, and THD. Despite being famous for transparency, the 1B circuit imparts subtle but unique coloration from transformers, tubes, and opto element producing articulate, silky, and smooth compression. Added features: continuous dry/wet blend, 5-position sidechain HPF, bypass switch, and stereo link. 100% hand made in Chile.
