The Stam Audio SA-1A is a meticulously reverse-engineered replica of the legendary Danish CL1A opto compressor. The CL1A had different transformers, more character, higher THD, and a more pronounced top end than the later CL1B. Custom US-made input and Lundahl output transformers replicate original ratios, frequency response, and THD. Custom opto element with proprietary matching circuit ensures identical attack and release times. Added features: continuous dry/wet blend, 5-position sidechain HPF, bypass switch, and stereo link. 100% hand made in Chile.
