The Firechild was developed as an original Stam Audio design, combining the best elements of legendary compressors to create something new. It demonstrates the company capability to move beyond direct recreations into creative hybrid designs that offer unique sonic character.

The Stam Audio Firechild is a dual-channel tube microphone preamplifier that preserves the same audio path as the Fairchild 670 compressor — with the same transformers, tubes, and an all-tube preamp stage with two 12AU7s per channel. Uses premium AMI-designed input transformers (identical replicas of the UTC A-26 from the Fairchild 670), custom US-made HS-56 output transformer replicas, and NOS 6BA6 and 12AU7 tubes. Each channel has 4 tubes, 60dB of gain, stepped gain control, impedance switching, DI with relay, 48V phantom power, and output trim. Hand made in Chile.
