The Pultec MEQ-5 was designed as a companion to the EQP-1A, addressing the midrange frequencies that the EQP-1A covered less precisely. It became a staple in studios that already had EQP-1As, providing the midrange control needed for complete program EQ. Stam Audio MEQP-1AS brings this specialized midrange EQ to modern studios, using the same tube circuitry and passive design philosophy as their EQP-1A recreation.

The Stam Audio EQP-1AS is the stereo, fully stepped version of the EQP-1AM — a 1:1 sounding replica of the Pultec EQP-1A (tube) and EQP-1A3-SS (solid-state) with MEQ-5 mid-band. Uses 4 Sowter audio transformers, two Moby output transformers, two US-made output transformers, six tubes (two 6X4 rectifiers), and four SA-25 op amps. Total: 8 transformers, 6 tubes, 4 op amps. All switches matched within 0.1% tolerance, tubes matched for stereo operation. Corner Dubilier capacitors and Allen Bradley carbon resistors. 3U classic faceplate. 72-hour burn-in. Hand made in Chile.
