The Roland System 700, released in 1976, was Roland's flagship modular synthesizer system—a comprehensive instrument rivaling large Moog and ARP installations. This expensive, professional system offered extensive modules, keyboards, and sequencers in custom cabinetry.
The System 700 represented Roland's ambition to compete at the highest level of professional synthesizer installations. Very few systems were manufactured due to high cost and limited market. Complete systems are extraordinarily rare today.
The System 700 has become a legendary rarity, with individual modules occasionally appearing on the used market. It represents the pinnacle of Roland's 1970s analog technology.
