Jupiter-50

TheJupiter-50is a discontinued 128 voice polyphonic digital subtractive synthesizer introduced byRoland Corporationin 2011. The Jupiter-50 is a part of Roland's flagship synthesizer series, which began with theJupiter-4between the years of 1978 and 1981. The Jupiter-50 is considered a hybrid/combination of both theJupiter-80and the JUNO series.

Overview

The Roland Jupiter-50, released in 2012, brought the SuperNATURAL synthesis of the flagship Jupiter-80 to a more affordable and portable format. This 76-key synthesizer offered extensive sound capabilities with an emphasis on supernatural acoustic instrument modeling and analog synthesis.

The instrument featured over 1,500 sounds, 16-part multitimbrality, and comprehensive effects. The simplified interface compared to the Jupiter-80 made it more accessible while maintaining professional sound quality. USB audio/MIDI integration facilitated computer-based workflows.

The Jupiter-50 targeted gigging musicians and project studios seeking Roland's latest synthesis technology without the premium price of the flagship model.
