Soundscape S-2000

The Ensoniq Soundscape (S-2000) was Ensoniq's first PC sound card (1994), a full-length 16-bit ISA wavetable card using a 2 MB Ensoniq ROM sample set with the OTTO wavetable synthesizer and a 68EC000 coprocessor to offload synthesis. It provided Sound Blaster and General MIDI compatibility plus a built-in MPU-401 MIDI interface and a codec sampling up to 48 kHz. The base S-2000 lacked an effects processor (no reverb/chorus), leaving samples dry; Elite, OPUS, and VIVO variants followed.
