Ensoniq PARIS (Professional Audio Recording Integrated System) is a hard-disk recording digital audio workstation for PC and Mac, sold from 1998 and later by E-mu Systems. It combines cross-platform multitrack/mixing software with the EDS-1000 PCI card carrying six Ensoniq ESP2 DSP chips so that all mixing and effects run on dedicated hardware rather than the host CPU, plus the Control 16 dedicated control surface (16 motorized faders, jog/shuttle) and a choice of analog/digital I/O interfaces. It was positioned as an affordable Pro Tools competitor noted for its analog-sounding mix bus.
