MR-Rack

1996

The Ensoniq MR-Rack is a single-rackspace, keyboard-less sound module that packages the engine of the MR-series keyboards into a 1U tabletop unit. It offers 64-voice polyphony, multitimbral operation across 16 MIDI channels, a 14 MB wave ROM with second-generation Transwaves, and General MIDI compatibility. Its defining feature is deep expandability: three internal wave-expansion board slots plus a PCMCIA card slot let players add ROM sounds and user samples well beyond the base library.
