ESQ-M

The Ensoniq ESQ-M is the 2U rackmount tone-module version of the ESQ-1, retaining the identical synthesis engine: eight-voice polyphony with three digital oscillators per voice (32 ROM waveforms), Curtis CEM 3379 analog low-pass filters, four envelopes, and three LFOs, with eight-part multitimbral operation. Unlike the ESQ-1 it omits the keyboard and the onboard sequencer, and replaces the large display with a smaller programming interface. It let players add the ESQ sound to a MIDI rig and remains a sought-after budget hybrid module.
