The Ensoniq EPS-m is the 3U rackmount module version of the EPS, a 13-bit, 8-part multitimbral sampler delivering 12 to 20 voices depending on sample rate. It expands on the keyboard model with four times the standard sample memory, eight individual audio outputs, a built-in SCSI port, a front-panel 3.5-inch disk drive, dual multimode digital filters, and an 8-track sequencer. Introduced in 1989, it brought the EPS engine and its load-while-play sampling to studio rack and MIDI-module setups.
