ASR-X Pro
1998
The Ensoniq ASR-X Pro is the upgraded, red-cased successor to the ASR-X, retaining the 32-voice 16-bit sampler/resampler, MR synth engine, 16-track sequencer, and 14 pads, but greatly expanding capability. It adds a SCSI interface, a Flash OS that upgrades via floppy, sample memory expandable to 66 MB, and the new 'Stomper' analog-style drum synthesis. Effects include EQ, reverb, chorus, flanger, delay, distortion, Chatter Box, Vocal Morph and Auto-Wah, all available in the resampling chain.
