The Ensoniq ASR-10 (Advanced Sampling Recorder) is a 61-key, 16-bit stereo sampling keyboard with up to 31-voice polyphony and 8-part multitimbral operation. It samples at 30 kHz or 44.1 kHz, ships with 2 MB of memory expandable to 16 MB, and offers powerful on-board resampling through its DP/4-derived effects engine (up to 62 algorithms including reverb, chorus, distortion and vocoding). Prized for its warm sound, dual multimode filters, and load-while-playing operation, it became a legendary tool in 1990s hip-hop and electronic production.
