Keyboard Cleaning

Symptoms this guide addresses

  1. Disconnect the instrument from the power source.
  2. Remove the eight wood screws securing the bottom cover and remove the cover.
  3. Inspect the keyboard compartment for dirt or debris. Blow out with air if necessary.
  4. Clean the gold-plated contacts using a solution of isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab.
  5. If corrosion persists, clean the bus bar with a soft pencil eraser.
  6. Avoid touching the bus bars or spring contacts with bare fingers.
  7. Reinstall the bottom cover.
