Fairlight

Fairlight is an Australian audio technology company founded in Sydney in 1975 by Kim Ryrie and Peter Vogel. It created the Fairlight CMI (Computer Musical Instrument), one of the first commercial digital sampling synthesizers and a pioneering music workstation that defined 1980s production. Fairlight later became a leader in digital audio post-production systems (MFX, Dream, Constellation, powered by its QDC and Crystal Core engines); the brand continues today as the Fairlight audio division of Blackmagic Design.
